xD My title fails, but Shine is the only word that comes to mind.
Alright, so in this tutorial we will be going over how to do the shine effect in photoshop. Note, I am using photoshop cs3 for mac, so things may look a bit different, but are generally the same.
The "Shine" effect is an effect that most web developers take advantage of for its beauty, and diversity of uses. In this tutorial we will be exploring the many ways of achieving this effect in more than one way. There are many ways in achieving this in photoshop. The main ones are using gradients and layers + opacities.
This is what we will be creating:
Simple yes, but it can be changed in a variety of ways. Like,
Layers
Step One: Create a new canvas with the dimensions of 200px Width and 30 px height.(File -> New)
Now double click the background layer on the right side of the screen.
A window will pop up, just click Ok. Then, right click what should now be called "Layer 0". You should get something like:
Click "Blending Options" as highlighted in the picture above.
You should get:
Look on the left side for "Gradients" click that.
You should get something like:
Now click on that black + white gradient bar in the center. Under Opacity where it says Gradient: You should get:
Then follow the instructions on screen on the image below.
Then, you should get something like this:
Now, because we want the shine part to be exactly centered and neat, we will add rulers! Click View -> Rulers (or if you have a mac its Command+R too.) Now, you will see those bars on the top and left sides of your canvas. Like what I have on the image above.
TEMP TUT END. Helpin a friend D:
